TJ had to work on Christmas day so the kids and I got up and went to church. We only had Sacrament meeting which was strange but nice because the kids weren't behaving very well. When we came home we waited for TJ then went to Travis and Hayley's to open family gifts. We are usually the last ones to leave their house but we left early so we could go home and have our Christmas. The kids got lots of great things but Sophie's favorite was her four Thomas the Train and friends and the Thomas carrying case for them. Can you see the excitement in her face?! Liam, as expected, was just kind of "eh" about the whole thing.
Every year, Quincy has the Avenue of Lights. It is set up months in advance and opens the night of Thanksgiving. This was the first year I went through it. TJ and Jessica took the kids on opening night, without my knowledge, which I was sad about because I wanted to be there to see Sophie's face, while I went Black Friday shopping. Oh, well. When we were all able to go together it was like the first time for her so it was still way fun. Different businesses sponsor the whole thing. It is pretty cool.
