Be careful what you wish for . . .

Okay. So the doctor must have been inspired to order a non stress test. I went in and the nurse was giving me an ultrasound and then she said, "how would you like to go to the hospital today?" Long story short, the baby's fluid was low so they sent me to be induced. Got to the hospital at noon. Received a hormone to release my hormones at 1:30pm which stayed in for 13 hours. Nothing was happening so I received another dose at 2:30am. Went for a walk at 3:30am. My water broke at 4:15am. I was dilated to a 5 by 9am, to a 9.5 by 11am, and she was born at 1:32pm. Things went pretty quickly once they started! Sophia Ellen Moore was born on August 29th at 1:32pm. She weighed 7 lbs 11oz and was 20.75 inches long. She is beautiful! Pictures to come.

C'mon. Seriously!

So, after the doctor spent about 2 minutes with me, I have not changed at all. Still one centimeter. I have a non stress test tomorrow and Tuesday. Induction scheduled for Friday, Sept 4th. I really really hope it doesn't come to that. All of those tricks people tell you about do not work! I guess your body just has to be ready. I am quite frustrated, if you can't tell.

Baby Update

So I went to the doctor today. I am 50% effaced and 1 centimeter dilated. She could come tonight or not for a while. Next appointment is on the 27th, one day before I am due. I hope I don't need that appointment! :)

Doctor's Visit

Well, this little baby is being very modest! We went to the doctor today and got an ultrasound. She was sitting indian style! And of course the doctor couldn't see her parts very well. We tried to move her around and she refused. Baby is going to be either very stubborn or just very laid back. Eventually the doctor was able to see between the legs, sord-of, and said that there was no sign of testies and so she gave me a more than 50% chance of baby being a girl!!! But, she said not to go shopping for girl stuff just yet. Stick with the onsies and neutrals she said. Does she know how hard this is?! We go back at the end of May and she said that we would do another ultrasound. The good news is, the down syndrome and other testing came back negative. Actually, that is GREAT news!!! She is growing like she is supposed to and so am I. I have gained a total of 9 pounds! I have 1 pound to go until I reach my pre pregnancy weight. I hope I don't go overboard :) Pictures to come this weekend.

Kicking

TJ got to feel the baby kick last night. It was pretty cool. I have tried to get him to feel her a few times before but she stops before he realizes what I am trying to get him to do. So, last night we were eating dinner (bean dip, I swear this kid is gonna come out mexican with all the mexican food I have been eating!) and she starting kicking. I grabbed TJ's hand and put it on my stomach. He could feel her right away and she continued kicking for probably 5 minutes. It was so neat to be able to share this moment with him. He thought it was pretty cool too. I am so grateful to be able to feel her. It is very reassuring.

Pregnancy

So I finally took some prego pics but they are at home on the laptop. I will post them soon. I feel like this baby is really weighing me down, literally, especially today! She seems very heavy today! I was getting over the nausea and started getting energy and then I got a cold. That put me down for a few days. I am slowly getting over it and not sounding like a boy going through puberty so much. Hopefully by this weekend I will start getting my energy back. Oh! and I have been feeling little spurts of movement, I think. I am telling myself that it is her kicking and not gas :) My next appointment is April 23rd so wish us luck in confirming the sex!!!
