Sophie and Liam

Liam absolutely adores his big sister. Sophie loves making her baby brother laugh. Whenever he is crying she says "boogety boogety boo" (in her own way) to make him laugh. She is such a good sister and quite the helper. He will just stare at her and watch her every move waiting for her to do something funny. It is so sweet to see them interact. I can't wait until they are old enough to really play together!

6 months!

I know I've said this before, but where does the time go?! My baby boy is 6 months old! Here are his stats:
Height: 28 inches
Weight: 19 lbs
Head Circumference: 44 cm

He is a chunk. Love his chub legs. He smiles all the time. He definitely loves his mama. I get some big smiles. He just stares at his daddy. Follows him with his eyes whenever he is near. He is very intriguing. Sophie can make him laugh all the time! Give her a wrapping paper roll and she is a hit! He just laughs and squeals whenever she plays with him.

While he loves to be held, he won't really look at you. He looks around you to see things that are more interesting. He is getting really good at sitting up on his own. He can even correct himself when he starts to tip. Lately he needs to be entertained, a lot! Luckily, I pulled the swing out and he loves it. Sophie didn't so we didn't bother with Liam but I am sure glad we did!

He isn't close to crawling yet, but he can get around in a circle. I was so excited for Sophie to crawl and wanted her to meet all her milestones early, but I am totally content with Liam taking it a little more slowly. I am so not ready for him to be mobile! Though I am sure Sophie would love it!

Liam also is very intrigued by his hands. He holds them in front of his face and turns them around and around and makes the ok sign and just stares. He will do this for a while without getting bored. I never knew hands could be so amazing!

5 months

Well, Liam is rolling again. He started in the beginning of October and then quit after a couple of days. Now he is a pro! I'll even find him on his tummy in the morning all tangled in his blanket. That does worry me. But what can I do?! On top of rolling he can scoot himself around in circles.

Sophie makes him laugh on a daily basis. It is so stinkin cute! She loves him so much. This makes me so happy cuz I was super worried that she wouldn't handle the new addition very well. Just last night she was talking through the wrapping paper roll and Liam was laughing hysterically! Oh, man. Melt my heart.

He likes to be entertained. We can't leave him in a room alone even for a few seconds without hearing about it. We borrowed my friend's bumbo and love it! He can sit on the counter while I'm cooking and on the table while we're eating. He loves being able to watch us. He is also getting really good in his bouncy seat. In fact, he is so good that we haven't realized that he has fallen asleep in it a few times :S

He always has his hands or his bib in his mouth. He is starting to find his thumb too. He looks so cute and funny with the bib in his mouth. I love babies' toothless smiles and for some reason it is even cuter when the bib outlines the gums :) He goes through several bibs each day. Between the slobber and the constant spit up, they get soaked. Last night we put him to bed and he was crying. After 20 minutes or so I went in, picked him up and he was cring so hard he started to cough. Can you guess what happened next?! He barfed all over me. It was nasty! So, we had our first shower together. Babies are slippery all soapy and wet! I don't think he liked the shower very much. He was shaking the whole time.

We sure love having Liam in our family. He brings us so much joy! I am adjusting to two kids. It is definitely difficult at times but I love them both so much!

2 month and 2 year stats just three months late

Liam and Sophie had their respective check ups a couple weeks ago. Here are their stats:

Liam
Height: 24.25 in
Weight: 13 lbs 3 oz
Head Circ: 40.1
Liam also got his two month shots. He did pretty well. Cried, but who wouldn't!

Sophia
Height: 35 in
Weight: 28 lbs
Head Circ: still big but I don't remember exactly
I wasn't expecting Sophie to get any shots. Well, she got a flu shot. I wasn't prepared for both kids to go through this and she was not a happy girl!

We made a fort. He didn't like it.

4 month stats

Height: 26.25 in (85 %ile)
Weight: 16 lbs 4 oz (60 %ile)
Head circumference: 43 cm (85 %ile)

He's a big boy! He also got more shots. He was so sad but it is amazing what nursing can cure!

He's pretty much a happy kid, as long as he is fed. If he decides he's hungry he can go from this to screaming in two seconds! A bit dramatic. 

So, we've let him fall asleep in his bouncer a few times. Does that make us terrible parents?! He loves to rub his blankets against his face. We have to really watch him so he doesn't suffocate. 

Big sister

Sophia is such a good big sister. And to see how good she is with Liam brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my lips. She always wants to hold him (she sits on the couch, positions the pillow and yells BABY, BABY while patting her lap). When I put him on her lap she pats his head or his belly and gives him hugs and kisses. She always wants to help feed him his bottle. She will let him eat for a second then pull the bottle out and wipe his mouth. This happens a few times before I decide that he needs to actually get some food so I take over. I am so happy that she loves him so much. She also has to kiss him goodnight every night. She kisses mommy and daddy and if we take her to bed without kissing him she yells, Liam Liam. So precious! (If you know Sophia at all you know she basically yells all the time. She is a very loud talker. She will whisper if you whisper but she mostly yells. It is cute but can become very annoying ;) ) She will also make sure he gets his binky if it's near him. But she will just as soon pull it out of his mouth and put it in hers if she wants it.

Liam's 1 month stats

Liam had his one month appointment on July 27th. Here are his stats:
Height 22 inches (68%)
Weight 10 lbs 9 oz (71%)
Head circumference 39 cm (68%)

Smile

On August 11th while sitting in my bed after a feeding Liam gave me, his mama, his first real smile! Sophie gave her first smile to my mom. I wasn't very happy about that. But Liam loves his mama so much and knew that she needed to have that smile. Especially with her being so very tired waking up two to three times a night to feed him. After that five minutes of smiles he really didn't smile much til yesterday. And he was all smiles! So cute. He truly melts my heart.
