Tomatoes

We were given a beef steak tomato plant from the relief society and then we decided to buy a cherry plant. We love greenery and thought it would be cool to have fresh, vine-ripened tomatoes. So TJ has been diligently caring for our tomato plants. He has been watering them, giving them calcium fertilizer, bringing them in out of the strong winds, and just babying them. It has been a few months now and the plants are HUGE! Our cherry is loaded with tomatoes. Our beef steak only has two. However, none of them are turning red. The cherry ones have been around for a while now but everyday they just stay green. It is very discouraging for me and I am not even the one who takes care of them. TJ thinks it is because we haven't had very much sun lately. This could be but it is not like it is pitch black all day. I guess I just don't know the process tomatoes undergo to get to the point where they are ready to eat. Hopefully they will turn red soon so we can eat them! This picture doesn't do them justice.

Lake Arrowhead

Aren't these pictures beautiful! On Sunday TJ and I went up the mountain to his second cousin's son's holy first communion. TJ has never been to Lake Arrowhead and it has been a few years since I have been up there but I don't think I appreciated the beauty. These pictures were just on the drive up. We didn't get any around the lake but his cousins did so if they are good I will post them later.

It's a girl! Officially :) The ultrasound showed no sign of boy parts. I can finally start shopping for girl stuff. I am so excited!

Here are some new pics! I am 6 months and 1 week. Do you think I look bigger? My next appointment is in two weeks. I can hardly wait!

Doctor's Visit

Well, this little baby is being very modest! We went to the doctor today and got an ultrasound. She was sitting indian style! And of course the doctor couldn't see her parts very well. We tried to move her around and she refused. Baby is going to be either very stubborn or just very laid back. Eventually the doctor was able to see between the legs, sord-of, and said that there was no sign of testies and so she gave me a more than 50% chance of baby being a girl!!! But, she said not to go shopping for girl stuff just yet. Stick with the onsies and neutrals she said. Does she know how hard this is?! We go back at the end of May and she said that we would do another ultrasound. The good news is, the down syndrome and other testing came back negative. Actually, that is GREAT news!!! She is growing like she is supposed to and so am I. I have gained a total of 9 pounds! I have 1 pound to go until I reach my pre pregnancy weight. I hope I don't go overboard :) Pictures to come this weekend.

Kicking

TJ got to feel the baby kick last night. It was pretty cool. I have tried to get him to feel her a few times before but she stops before he realizes what I am trying to get him to do. So, last night we were eating dinner (bean dip, I swear this kid is gonna come out mexican with all the mexican food I have been eating!) and she starting kicking. I grabbed TJ's hand and put it on my stomach. He could feel her right away and she continued kicking for probably 5 minutes. It was so neat to be able to share this moment with him. He thought it was pretty cool too. I am so grateful to be able to feel her. It is very reassuring.

Easter 2009

I bought Easter egg dye last year that we didn't use. When we moved in March I found it and decided that we would dye eggs this year. I love dying eggs! So, Saturday morning I turned on Jack Johnson, put down the paper, got some crayons, and made the dye. The cat was super interested in what we were doing. She kept walking through the supplies.




I have to say our finished products were pretty cool. Among the many, TJ made a japanimation bunny carrying and Easter basket. He also drew a chick on my cracked egg design. We had a lot of fun. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Notice the purple starry night he made for me :)
