First Easter present, from GG (great grandma). I think she likes it.

My PT family
Tonight my PT family took us out to dinner as a farewell party, both from work and California. We went to Wood Ranch bbq. It was yummy. They got me a yummy chocolate and strawberry cake. It was fun to see everyone again and to tell them of our plans and to hear about their families. As difficult and interesting as this job was, I will miss the people I worked with. I truly appreciate the love they have for me.

Jillian Michaels
So I started the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred today. I am still alive. Barely. My legs were like jell-o for an hour after. It was only a 20 minute workout. Shows how out of shape I am. Wish me luck over the next 29 days.

I am proud.
I completed my first knitting project! I made a little beanie for my Sophia. It is super cute if I do say so myself. :) I started on Sunday and finished on Friday. Not bad for a few hours a day. I made a few mistakes but I think they give it character! I am actually really enjoying it. I have started on a matching scarf for me.

85 degrees, beach, and Cafe Rio
So yesterday was about 85 degrees at the beach so we decided to head on down to Newport. Ahhhh, soooooooooo nice. It was a beautiful day. It was the first time putting sunscreen on the baby and so we tried to spike it. It is pretty long so it looked silly. She just vegged under the umbrella most of the day. Later we went for a walk to find seashells for Kathleen to make some chimes. It was a great day! I love the sun! After the beach we went to Cafe Rio. In California! Crazy! It was super yummy. I love when TJ has vacation. We've got to soak up all the sun we can before we move to beachless, mountainless, ice storm, tornado Illinois.

Hiking
Today we went hiking with our ward. It was Sophie's very first hike. She really loves to be outdoors. She was great the whole two hours. She didn't cry once. I whined a lot though. We went to Potato Mountain. When we got to the very top we found three potatoes. It was kinda funny. It was steep, at least to me. But all in all, it was super fun. It was a beautiful day with a nice cloud cover so it wasn't hot. I am glad we went, even though we had to wake up at 7:30 am! I will post some pictures when I get them from our friends.

So do you remember the swollen eye?
It is actually a lump. We took her to the eye doctor yesterday and he said that it might be a dermatoid cyst. But, he isn't positive. He said it is most likely nothing serious but the only way to find out what it is for sure is to do a CT Scan with Contrast or an MRI. Do we want to subject our 6 month old to either of those???? The CT Scan will subject her to radiation and a sort of sedative and the MRI will have to be done with her completely put out on anesthesia! Neither of these seem like very good options but we would like to know what we are dealing with. We looked at pictures of her this morning and can see this lump starting with her two month pictures. It has gotten bigger since then. When I asked the doctor what he would do he said that he would just watch it. I feel like that is what we have been doing for two months. Has anyone had to get either of these tests done on their kids? I am curious to know your thoughts.
The doctor also had to dilate her eyes. She did not like that at all. Her pupils were huge! But she got these cool sunglasses!

Mischievous
These two little ones are so funny. TJ was on the computer and I was in the kitchen one day and when I came out to check on the kids they were like this:
They started on their separate blankets at least two feet apart and CJ was sitting in the boppy. Sophie is petting his head. So funny! I am getting a taste of what crawling will be like! I don't know if I am ready for that, and neither is my house.

I did it!
I did it! I learned how to knit! Thanks to the patience of my teacher, Teresa, I learned how to knit. She cast on for me (whatever that means) and I knitted. There are a couple of holes here and there but for the most part it looks great! It really wasn't as hard as it was the first time. But, I am a lefty and Teresa did her research to try to teach me that way but she said that everything out there is for right handed people. So that's how I did it. It was a little awkward but it worked. So I have the beginnings of a gray, holey scarf or pot holder or something. Or maybe I will just scrapbook my very first knitting project so I have it forever :)

Bleh
Have you ever been in a stage in your life where you don't like any of your clothes, nothing seems to fit right, and you just want to dump everything and start over? Well, I am there right now. I realize that I "just had a baby" (6 months ago!) but I feel like I should be back to semi normal. So, instead of throwing everything out all at once (I can't exactly afford to do that) my friends advised me to go through my closet and purge. So that's what I did last night. I got rid of anything that I will never fit in to again, things that I haven't worn in a while, and stuff that is just tattered. It actually felt pretty good. I even threw out some shoes and reorganized the ones I kept. This purging spilled over to my nightstand. I found some cute pictures, some prom memories that I could have lived without, and a bunch of crap that I just don't need. I think I am ready for Spring and to purge other things in my apartment that I don't use. If anyone is interested in my crap, feel free to come explore :)
(thank you to my friends for helping me through this last night ;) )

Sour
So I have started giving Sophie fruits. Little did I know they would be kinda sour. I tried to give her pears and she just seemed like she didn't want to eat them. I switched to bananas last night. She kept making a sour face and didn't really eat them. So I tasted them. They were sour! Not like they had gone bad, like they were lemon type sour. So I looked at the ingredients and they put citric acid in them. I assume that is what makes them sour. Today we tried a mixture of apples, strawberries and bananas. I tasted them first and they didn't seem super sour like the bananas plus there wasn't citric acid in them. See the attached video and decide for yourself if this was sour or not :)
Healthy Habits Challenge - Week 5
Ok. So the Healthy Habits Challenge isn't going so well for me. Last week I only got 37/60. Granted we had three days of wedding festivities but still, 61%. That is pretty bad. Plus I stepped on a scale last night and haven't lost a pound. I realize that I haven't given this 100% but I should see some result. I have lost my steam. It is time to take this serious (again). This is generally what happens when I start something like this. I am gung-ho for the first couple of weeks and then I crap out. And now that I am home all day I just want to sit on my butt. Plus the two babies wear me out so I don't have the energy to get up and going. Excuses, I know. I will get better! I will do better! I will be better! (a little motivational speech for myself)

My Baby is 6 Months Old!
Sophia is 6 months old, either today or yesterday. Take your pick! I am glad she wasn't born February 29th because that would just be confusing. Anyway, 6 months old! Can you believe it?! I sure can't. She still doesn't roll from her stomach to her back very much. I haven't seen her do it. TJ and my parents have though. She kind of scoots herself backwards so she is close to crawling I think. She chews on EVERYTHING! Anything you give her goes straight in to her mouth. She is so stinkin cute!
